How much do you communicate with your kids? kids are so busy these days with all their home work, extra -curricular, tutions, sports etc.they hardly have any time to sit and talk with their parents. In the same way even the parents are so busy that they literally have to make an effort to spend time with their kids.My 10 yr. old makes me sit with her whenever she is having lunch after school. She tells me everything that has happened since morning.Since that is the only time she can spare as later on she would get busy with her home- work and her dance lessons.I also make sure to be at home when she comes back from school. On the other hand my 5 yr old would switch on TV as soon as she comes back from school because it's almost time for her favourite show. She gets so engrossed in watching TV that you have to make an effort to grab her attention. I feel that as the kids get older the need of being heard becomes stronger. My sister-in-law is the best companion for her college going kids. They share everything with her as she listens. You should be a good listener if you want to be your kids best friend. It also helps as we get to know what's going on in our kid's life and if they need any help in terms of guidance or support.
